The College of Public Service’s Center on Aging, Research, and Education Services (CARES) partnered with the Tennessee Department of Human Services to host the 17th annual CARES Conference on TSU’s Avon Williams Campus on June 13th and 14th. The theme of the conference is in recognition of the United Nations observance of the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. The focus of the conference was on Promoting Excellence in Service Delivery to Tennessee’s Aging Citizens. Over 150 experts and practitioners from around the state attended, and discussed challenges, cutting edge research and techniques to address the growing population of the elders needs. Ultimately, the conference focused on enhancing knowledge of the aging service delivery quality to meet the needs, raising public awareness of elder abuse, and providing networking opportunities for those who serve, treat, and represent aging adults. We extend a special congratulations to Dr. Cara Robinson, who oversees CARES and co-Chairs the annual conference.
